Research
The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology's research activities reflect the diversity of faculty interests and clinical expertise, and continue to transform the field of gastroenterology. Divisional faculty members conduct clinical studies and basic science and translational research that encompass many subspecialties of gastroenterology and hepatology, including esophageal disease, swallowing disorders, pancreatic/biliary disease, liver disease and management of liver transplantation, irritable bowel syndrome and related health psychology services, inflammatory bowel disease and nutrition/intestinal absorption disorders.
T32 Training Grant
Funded by a National Institutes of Health (NIH) T32 Training Grant, the Northwestern University Gastrointestinal Physiology and Psychology Program trains MD and PhD postdoctoral scientists in translational research.
