Education

The Division of Cardiology is actively engaged in medical education at all thresholds: medical students, residents, fellows and continuing medical education. Our faculty is expert in problem-based learning and makes active use of the simulation laboratory for resuscitation and interventional procedures. Members of the division are perennial winners of best teacher awards and have participated in structural instruction on best educational methodologies through the Searle program at Northwestern University. Our highly competitive cardiology fellowship program annually attracts over 600 applicants for seven positions, and our fellows enjoy a rich clinical and investigational experience with a number who have been nationally recognized and independently funded. A dedicated research agenda is a requirement of the Cardiology Fellowship program at Northwestern Medicine.
